A client in the oil industry needed a part fabricated for a tank assembly. They came to G.E. Mathis Company, knowing we had the capabilities and expertise necessary to get the job done.

Our variable geometry, 3-roll, pinch-type plate roll machine enabled us to produce a high-quality, tight-tolerance cylinder segment.


The cylinder segment was made from A240-T304 stainless steel plate with a mill finish and thickness of 0.375″. It was rolled to a 300″ of inside radius thru 45 degrees by 96″ long. We rolled this part by holding tight tolerances of ±0.188″.

We performed first article, in-process, and final item inspection to ensure adherence to the customer-supplied print, along with the 2D CAD drawing. This project required the production of 32 cylinder segments within a three-week time frame.
