Precision

G.E. Mathis Company has been providing accurate, efficient welding services for over a century. Using state-of-the-art equipment and an AWS-certified welding team, we deliver excellence on every project. Whether you need to manufacture a prototype or are looking for a full-scale production partner, we can provide the quality you’re looking for.

Our Comprehensive Welding Capabilities

Our welding team is able to create exceptional-quality products for a wide range of demanding industrial applications. From arc and MIG welding to custom welding services, we have expertise in a range of welding techniques.

Arc Welding

Our arc welding services include:

  • Gas metal arc welding (GMAW/MIG). A direct current power supply creates an electrical arc between a metal wire electrode and a workpiece. Our GMAW welding process is suitable for thin ferrous metals and delivers fast deposition rates.
  • Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW/TIG). Also known as tungsten inert gas welding, this technique involves using a non-consumable tungsten electrode to generate an arc, creating precise, clean welds. We can use this process with a wide array of metals and alloy materials.
  • Flux core arc welding (FCAW). FCAW uses core-provided gas to protect the electrode. It is best for welding thicker materials, offering high deposition rates.
  • Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW). Also known as stick welding, SMAW uses a consumable electrode protected by a flux shield. G.E. Mathis can use this versatile and cost-effective method with a range of materials.

Specialized Welding

We also offer specialty welding services, such as:

  • Submerged arc welding (SAW). SAW uses a powdered flux layer as a shield while creating an electric arc between a consumable electrode and the workpiece. We can use this technique with larger projects and thick metals, as well as automation solutions.
  • Seam welding. Seam welding joins similar or dissimilar materials along a continuous seam to create an airtight seal. This process is ideal for gas- or liquid-tight vessels.
