G.E. Mathis Company Earns New ISO 9001:2015 Certification

2012_iso-logo_printAs a part of our continuous commitment to excellence in manufacturing, G.E. Mathis Company earned the ISO 9001:2015 certification. The updated certification, which replaces ISO 9001:2008, aims to improve and clarify quality assurance methods by providing new standards for a more interconnected world.

Notable changes to the certification include:

  • Greater emphasis on company leadership and understanding individual organizations, rather than a “one-size-fits-all” approach
  • Acknowledgment of increasingly complex organizational structures
  • Alignment of standards across multiple management systems
  • Expanded and better-structured approaches to organizational risks and opportunities
  • More user-friendly service to improve customer satisfaction, retention, and loyalty

A 10-clause structure for all Management System Standards (MSS), also known as the High-Level Structure (HLS), outlines specific guidelines for the implementation of these new considerations. The ten core clauses are as follows:

  1. 1. Scope
  2. 2. Normative references
  3. 3. Terms and conditions
  4. 4. Context of organization
  5. 5. Leadership
  6. 6. Planning
  7. 7. Support
  8. 8. Operation
  9. 9. Performance evaluation
  10. 10. Improvement

New Standards for a Changing Workplace

The revised certificate moves away from a focus on simple supply chains to instead follow higher-level structures, allowing users of several different systems to easily integrate the new standards into each of their processes while promoting — and benefiting from — increased industry globalization.

ISO 9001:2015 also places emphasis on risk-based thinking; earning ISO certification now requires organizations to measure, analyze, and evaluate the risks and opportunities of every manufacturing process in order to identify and limit potential hazards.

Making G.E. Mathis Company Even More Reliable

Obtaining ISO certification was a long, challenging process, but it serves as proof of quality throughout every step of our manufacturing processes. With this documentation, we can assure customers that our internal workings are consistent, cost effective, and risk appropriate. Furthermore, it reflects our commitment to compliance with applicable industry standards and government regulations.

G.E. Mathis Company Blends Cutting Edge Expertise With a Rewarding Customer Experience

Customer satisfaction is the buzzword of the 21st century. The dynamics of power has shifted irreversibly in favor of the buyers and companies can no longer afford to stay aloof and disseminate information or offer support according to their whims and fancies.

Customer satisfaction is defined by marketers as ‘how a product/service stacks up against (or surpasses) the buyers’ expectations’. Armed with the convenience of a global economy and the power of the internet truly giving credence to the term ‘a global village’, prospects and customers now have an array of high-quality, affordable products to source from all corners of the world. Obviously the key differentiator is how adeptly vendors can support queries, extend help and reward brand loyalty.

According to research by Ruby Newell-Legner, a single negative experience with a supplier requires 12 positive experiences to balance the decision in favor of a renewal or upgrade! Considering the fact that word of mouth publicity is ranked as the most influential form of promotion and the high churn rate of existing clients, a robust division dedicated to transforming the interactions of buyers with the company is a wise investment.

Embodying this sentiment and built on the pillars of Quality, Integrity, & Craftsmanship, G.E. Mathis Company is a leader in the field of supplying long, intricate and close tolerance fabrications. We not only believe in going the extra mile and ‘doing whatever it takes’ to achieve perfection, we also firmly advocate a policy of Total Customer Satisfaction by focusing on providing all the conveniences needed to successfully process large orders and handle extremely large components which are beyond the capability of most of our competitors.

As an ISO 9001:2015 certified company, exceptional service and performance are a part of our legacy of brilliance. Focused on buyer experience, G.E. Mathis Company has incorporated the art of balancing cutting edge technology with customer value into its vision and mission.

Constructing your Stainless Steel Needs

You’re a customer in the architectural field, and you’re in need of precision laser cut stainless steel panels for your next project. In order for your project to go off without a hitch, these ¼” thick stainless steel panels must measure 63” in width and 143” in length. Not only do you need a quantity of 91 pieces, but you also need the large metal panels to be laser cut to a tolerance of ±0.015 in. To top it off, your project schedule is under a time crunch, and it is necessary that you receive these parts within the next few weeks. It’s pertinent, then, that you find a metal fabrication company who can meet all of your needs in a quick turnaround time. Where do you go?

For one customer in particular, they came to GE Mathis Company. This customer came to us with an engineered drawing of these exact needs. So how did we fulfill their requirements? We took A240-T304 stainless steel and used our 6,000 watt laser to cut the stainless steel plates precisely to the customer’s specifications. Once the panels were cut, we then ground and de-burred the laser cut edges to ensure that the panels were precise and ready to use. Even better – we were able to do all of this in three weeks! It is important to our entire staff to meet the needs of every customer – whether in the architectural field or other industrial fields.
